Silk-screen or Ceramic Printed Glass

Ceramic Printed glass also called Silk Screened glass has gained wide-spread for decoration and masking on building interior and exterior facades. Ceramic printing on glass is done with special enamels which are applied to glass before it is tempered. During the heating process in tempering or bending, this enamel fuses into the glass and becomes a monolithic construction.

Insulated Glass

Insulated glass is a combination of two or more panes of glass with a layer of inert gas namely argon or krypton in between them. The two pieces of glass are further separated by an aluminium spacer bar which has holes in it; a desiccant which might be silica gel or zeolite is used below the spacer bar material so as to absorb any moisture that may be initially present in between the glass panes.

Laminated Glass

Laminated glass is a fantastic alternative to normal glass, offering a tough, robust structure that is hard to break. Laminated glass is suitable for use in many ways, and is a material that is growing in popularity.

Heat-soaked Glass

Tempered heat soaked glass has similar characteristics to tempered glass. The process begins with heating tempered glass to 290 ºC and remaining at that temperature for 2 hours, which does not affect any properties of tempered glass. The overall process is more than 4-5 hours as it has to begin with normal temperature until reach high degree at 290 ºC, following by decrease it to ambient temperature afterwards.

Heat-strengthened Glass

Heat Strengthened glass is a semi tempered which is two times stronger than Annealed glass. It has higher mechanical and thermal strength when compared to annealed glass having the same width and thickness. Heat strengthened glass is more difficult to break than annealed glass but it breaks into large fragment which might be injurious and risky to handle.

Tempered Glass

Tempered or toughened glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the interior into tension. Such stresses cause the glass, when broken, to shatter into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards as ordinary annealed glass does. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury.
